La Toma San Cristobal, natural pool, Dominican Republic

La Toma San Cristobal is a place frequently visited by the habitants of the region south of the island and from Santo Domingo. A great spa pool type, which consists of the waters of a natural river.
About 6 km north of the city of San Cristobal, at the foot of a rocky hill and rough, a source of pure, crystalline water, where they built the first dam in America by the Spanish conqueror Christopher Columbus around 1520. The retention volume is about 8,000 cubic Mts, then the water rushing downhill not so fast to empty into the river Nigua.
Swimming in La Toma is really refreshing. There are also some fishes in the water.
